156   That was His seventh day. Now, Paul would admit that God give it to them; that was the seventh day. And God did rest the seventh day: He blessed the sabbath day; He hallowed it; He sanctified it, and made it a day of rest. God did do it, from all His works.

And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest (Jesus speaking).

Now, there's another sabbath somewhere. Where's it? Now, remember this here, "God's rest," that seventh day. Paul said, "They had that in a certain place." But now again he said, "If they shall enter into My Rest," speaking of Jesus in Matthew, all right.

Now, now, then just having these few nights. And by the way, we're going to have Saturday night service, going right on just the same, of having a...

Some of the folks of the church said they would... The being dirty, to come into church Sunday morning, that some of them said they would stay Saturday night after the service and help clean up the church, so that the people wouldn't have to come in Sunday morning, or the--or they wouldn't have to work on Sunday to--to get--to fix the church up. We don't--we won't... I'm not a Sabbatarian, but yet I like to respect the--the worship just as close as I can.

124   Now, remember, God predestinated you by foreknowledge, that you were coming to this. Everybody understand it, raise your hand. See? God, by foreknowledge, predestinated you to come to the promised land. What is the promised Land for the Christian today? Just raise up your hand if you know. "The promise is unto you and to your children, to them that are far off. And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, that I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh, your sons and your daughters." And in Isaiah 28:18, "Precept must be upon precept, line upon line; here a little, there a little; hold fast to that what's good. For with stammering lips and other tongues will I speak to this people. And this is the Rest, the Rest, the sabbath land that I said that they should enter into. And, for all this, they would not hear, but they wagged their heads, and walked away, and wouldn't hear It." See? Exactly.

143   And tomorrow's the Sabbath. And, Lord, help me in the morning, if it falls my lot to preach on that Countdown. God, may I be able to bring it in such a way till the people will see it, Lord. And now may they see the state of the ministry, and where it's at, and what we're waiting for, and why everything is going on the way it is. May they read from the 5th verse on, and then realize the place that we're standing.

106  This great orbiting that the Church is getting ready to do, and the great time of the countdown, I'd like to explain to you what I think the countdown is. Now, I think we just been through it in the church here. And now you notice that, when the natural astronaut is getting ready to leave the earth, there is a countdown starting from ten back to zero. Now, I haven't tried to break this Message down and give it a spiritual application, as it would take too much time this morning. But I want to try to explain this to you, that ten is a number of "worldliness," man. But seven is the number of "God's perfection." Six days He made the heavens and earth, and the seventh He rested. And six thousand years the world is to labor against sin, or the church labor against sin, and the seventh is the Millennium, the Sabbath.

147   Notice, our Adventist brethren say that the Seal of God is keeping the Sabbath Day (you know that); but I want one speck of Scripture on it and show that Sabbath--or keeping the Sabbath day is the Seal of God. See, it's just a--somebody drawed that idea.

220                 The sabbath speaks of the old law, which was to pass away. The keeping of a sabbath, which "passed away," or, I have said, "changed to another." It didn't pass away; it just changed from the old law, of keeping a certain day of the week.

The Sabbath, as we know it from the New Testament, is NOT the keeping of a certain day. We have no command whatsoever to keep Saturday for a Sabbath, nor do we have any commandment to keep the first day of the week, which is Sunday. Here is the truth of the Sabbath, which means "rest."

Hebrews 4:8,

"For if Jesus had given them rest (or rest day), then would He not afterward have spoken of another day.

There remaineth therefore a rest (Sabbath keeping) to the people of God.

For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His."

Did you hear that key phrase in the last part of the verse?

"God ceased from His own works."

God gave Israel the seventh day for their Sabbath, in commemoration of His own work wherein He created the world and all that was therein, and then stopped creating. He ceased from His labors. He rested. Now it was fine to give a Sabbath rest to a people who were all in one place at one time, so they could all keep a certain day. Today half the world is in light while the other half is in darkness, so it wouldn't work at all. But that is just an argument from the natural.

6               And so they're very loyal to go to church. No matter how cold it is, they'll wrap up in a blanket, and set on a bobsled, and drive the horse for thirty miles to get to go to church. They'll walk through the snowdrifts and everything else, young and old. They all group together. And one family gets the other and they start walking, and they go. It's--it's a sacrifice that they make is what causes them to get so much out of the service. When there's no sacrifice, there's not very much to the service. You have to really get down and do something that hurts real bad, have to lay aside some things and stop the work, and do this or that to get to go to church and show God that you love Him, and you make a sacrifice to go; it's then when you get something out of it.

145               They didn't care because the Spirit of the church in that day was sacrifice, labor. And they walked up just as freely as they could walk, anointed with the true Spirit of God of that age, and died like heroes of sacrifice, thousands times thousands, sixty-eight million of them on the record: ox, sacrifice.

Oh, my. Do you understand it? Okay. All right. Now, the sacrifice, it only could labor in that age to combat the great opposition for that one thousand years.

54                 The--the--the believing worshiper was identified with his sacrifice, by the token. I don't wish to stay too long on these little quotations, but, which you could take the entire service on one of them, but I want to stop here a moment to express that. The--the--the believer had to be identified with his sacrifice. See? If it's just a sacrifice and--and made somewhere out there, he had give it; but he had to be identified in it. Frankly, he had to place his hands on it, first, to identify himself with his sacrifice. And then the blood was placed to where he could stand under the blood. The blood must be over him. And that was a token that he had identified himself, guilty, and had proven that an innocent substitute had taken his place.

37                 Now we find out our identification with our Sacrifice, the Life of the Sacrifice in us, which is the Holy Spirit. When that cell was broke, it released God, released God, that He had sanctified a people with His Own Blood and put God in the man again. God in you, Eternal Life!

81    And notice Cain. He didn't want no blood sacrifice. He come down and offered the fruit, or--or the fields of beauty upon his altar. Very religious, done everything, that, just exactly like Abel done; offered a sacrifice, fell down before God in worship, obedient in every way, but without the revelation of the Word.

And the Word was, from the beginning, God's plan. But God revealed, by revelation, the very thing that He vindicated and punctuated that that was right. Not religion, not an altar, not belonging to church, not making a sacrifice, not being sincere; but by the revelation of the Word of God. God revealing to him what that it...

38               Even the sacrifice, said, "Your holy days and your sacrifice become a stench in My nose." Yet He ordained them to make that sacrifice. But the way they treated it, it become a stench, stink in His nose (His nostrils), the very sacrifice that He ordained.

39    That's the way we take the Word of God, too many Christians today (so-called) does that. We stand up here and teach this Word, and say, "Jesus Christ isn't the same yesterday, today, and forever," and teach the things that He promised us that He would honor, and say, "Oh, well, that was for something else," our solemn worships just become a stink in His nose. He will not receive it, by no means. That's the reason, by our traditional habits!

16               And we've got to the place to think that because we're resting upon what our forefathers did, or what upon our great founders of our churches, what their great sacrifice was to God, which is all right and so much appreciated. But we cannot draw salvation from what they did. Salvation is an individual affair between every person and God. Not with our nation, with our church, but with ourselves before God we answer.

81               287. Dear Brother Branham, approximately ten years ago God met me now and healed what the gift of love--or revealed what the gift of love was, and same then my prayer is for--that I will return. Will I receive it before I die? Will my husband hear the Word, and what am I to do?

That's more of a question. Now, she said... Now, what it is here, or--she said, "My husband," so I suppose it would have to be the woman that said this. Now, she lost her first love. See? She--she got cold in the Spirit. Now, sister, maybe 'cause you still come to church and do what's right, you haven't lost your salvation, but you've lost the joy of your salvation. David cried to the Lord one time, "Lord, restore to me the joy of my salvation." You still are a Christian, but I--what you want to do, sister, is turn loose of everything that you know how, and seek God, and pray.

182    Salvation alone goes in the Name of Jesus Christ. "Whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in the Name of Jesus Christ." There is not another name, no church, no hierarchy, no titles, or nothing else! Yet, He is the Rose of Sharon, Lily of the Valley, Morning Star, Alpha, Omega, Beginning and the Ending, Jehovah-jireh, -rapha, -manasseh, all these. He is all these things, but yet He... There is not no salvation in any of those titles; Jehovah, no salvation; Rose of Sharon, yet He is, no salvation; Father, Son, or Holy Ghost, no salvation. Only the Name of "Jesus Christ!" And then the Bible said, that, "Repentance and remission of sin must be taught in His Name, beginning at Jerusalem, and to the uttermost parts of the earth."

He said, "Do you think it makes any difference?"

"He hath made us!" Oh, there are certain truths we need to emphasize. This is one of them. HE! HE HATH MADE US! Salvation is His doing. Salvation is of the Lord. All of grace. He redeemed us for a purpose. He bought us for a purpose. We are kings, spiritual kings. Oh, we are going to be kings upon the earth with Him when He sits on His throne. But now we are spiritual kings and we reign over a spiritual kingdom.
